Carol Bruck, a Wills Transfer Limited Vehicle Scheduler, held a fund-raising event at the shell lube plant in Brockville, ON, recently for the I AM ALIVE DOG RESCUE. She put a huge effort into this event and offered up a Hot Breakfast, and bake sale. Beside the countless goodies, she also canvassed a vast number of local business which to her surprise had a great response and supplied her with two tables of silent auction items, from gift cards, gift baskets, even an original painting from a local artist. Carol’s goal was to be able to raise at least $200.00 dollars to assist with some of the many costs this shelter occurs from caring for these unfortunate animals. The staff at the site opened their hearts and wallets and even their homes as one staff member adopted one of the animals he had seen as Carol had supplied a recent adoption binder with all the animals that were looking for a forever home. With the help from a few friends as well who bid on the few remaining items, she handed over a grand total of $1863.00 to the shelter’s organizer. A big thank you to Carol for the hours of baking and cooking and prep time that went into this event and for rallying the community and drawing awareness to assist these animals!

“I Am Alive Dog Rescue and I Am Alive Cat Rescue are a 100% volunteer based organizations that are completely not for profit. They are dedicated to saving abandoned dogs and cats and placing them in loving and caring homes. They are committed to saving animals of all ages that would otherwise be senselessly killed for the lack of a loving home. Most of their rescues are pulled from high-kill pounds where they have been slated for certain death through no fault of their own.” (https://www.iamalivedogrescue.com/)

“I Am Alive rescues are dedicated to the rescue, short term fostering and long-term re-homing of the animals rescued. Unwanted animals are found new homes through their placement program, which carefully matches up rescued dogs and cats with potential adopters. Adoptive families, new and old, are provided with any support and guidance they may need. They are a foster-based rescue therefore they do not have a shelter. They rely mainly on the generosity of volunteer fosters who open their homes to unwanted and abused animals. They focus on rescuing animals from high-kill pounds where their chances of being adopted are slim to none. As a last resort they can take in owner surrenders if an appropriate foster home can be found.  All animals that come into the care of the rescue are bathed then visit a vet for a complete check up.  They are scheduled to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to being placed in foster care. The I Am Alive rescues believe that together, we can make a difference in saving unwanted and abused animals.” (https://www.iamalivedogrescue.com/)
