CHEO-OPOLY Board Game

CHEO-OPOLY Board Game

What a great way to close out 2020 by purchasing a tile on the CHEO-OPOLY board through our partners at PCL/ED, a Joint Venture. With 31 Monopoly Board “properties” to bid on, Wills Transfer successfully won the Pink Road Heritage Facility tile (CB REHAB – TA8 pictured below) which sports our name on the game board. The CB-Rehab TA8 HERITAGE CONSER is an abbreviation of: ‘Centre Block Rehabilitation TA8 Heritage Conservation Project’ that we have been a part of with PCL/ED. The rehabilitation project materials are stored at the Pink Road Warehouse Facility in Gatineau, QC. that we currently have 2 Wills Transfer employees working at.

The Concept, Explained…

Starting in November 2020 and for 4 weeks, PCL/ED auctioned off a number of Monopoly Board “properties” to raise money for the CHEO Foundation!

In addition to benefiting the children and families in the communities where we live, work, and play, this initiative was designed to create networking connections between local companies. It may also lead to future partnerships in projects, and it provides participating companies with the opportunity to advertise what they have accomplished.

PCL/ED created a custom Monopoly game board to raise money for the CHEO-OPOLY foundation, where the tiles are projects that the joint companies have delivered or are delivering around the Ottawa area and surrounding region.

Contractors and trades who have worked with PCL/ED were invited to bid on these tiles in an online silent auction to get their company logo and name printed on them. After the bidding was closed, the final board design was sent in to be printed through a third party and sent out to everyone who participated. The names of all bidding companies are included in the center of the board.

The Outcome, Achieved…

The auction raised $84,353 for the CHEO Foundation and the proceeds from the CHEO-OPOLY board go directly toward the purchasing of children’s medical equipment. Now our name will be synonymous with the other respected 21 bidders who participated in this very worthy cause.
