About the Safe Driver Award Program at Wills Transfer.
A safe driver is:
A defensive driver.
Aware of other less skilled or careless drivers on the road and makes accommodations for them.
Prepared for weather related hazards and poor road conditions.
A driver who does not allow the actions of pedestrians to result in a collision.
Guidelines:
Awards are for a calendar year.
Supervisors are not eligible.
Part time drivers that are required to drive as part of their job are included in the program.
Loss of award for 1 year does not take the driver back to 0.
Safe driving pins will not be awarded if:
Driver was involved in any at fault accident or incident that was preventable, and equipment/property was damaged. Preventable is to be determined by Wills review group.
Driver was involved in any preventable action that caused points on the CVOR record. Preventable is to e determined by Wills review group.
Driver was hired after March 1st of the calendar year.
If a company is lenient, it condones a mediocre standard of safe driving performance.
What is the CVOR Record?
The CVOR certificate identifies the operator and contains a unique 9-digit ID number. The certificate (or a copy) must be carried in each commercial motor vehicle operated under the CVOR certificate. Operators must surrender the certificate when requested by an MTO enforcement officer or police officer for inspection purposes.
